I Am Dating A Single Father And I Haven’t Been Around Kids That Much As An Adult, Got Any Tips?
I am dating a single father and I haven’t been around kids that much as an adult (I am 27, with no kids, never been married), any tips? He has a 2 yr old, 5 yr old and 8 yr old. How do you think I could get better at interacting with them/ playing with them? any tips, books, advice you’ve got will be appreciated.
I nanny for a lot of little kids and work in church childcare too n just met a guy 5 yrs older than me who i like alot but he has a 3 yr old daughter, and I just feel like you don’t have to be great with kids, but it helps to know what they are into at whatever ages they are, and i find that if you are just active any kid will love you. Some ideas that always work for me esp with the kids’ ages you listed- catching bugs/digging up worms, being outside and doing anything really, like sports, or making up games or taking walks… with kids you really have to just act stupid sometimes and be comfortable with yourself bc i would think esp with the 8 yr old, that it could be kinda awkward to just hang out with your dad’s gf… so my #1 goal is to just break the ice and get kids to laugh and if they think youre funny and fun then you’ll always win their hearts.
