What Are The Dating Trends In The Philippines Now?
During my teen years, I wasn’t allowed to go out with boys ALONE on a date till I was 16. Before that, group dates only – like with some other friends – both boys and girls.
What is it like nowadays? Or even if you’re not in the Phils., what are your thoughts about dating? What would be your rules, if any, for your children?

I’m too liberal so you probably wouldn’t agree to my opinions. Dating to me is not a function of one’s age. You may be 16 or even 20 but if your maturity level is that of a 13 year old, then I believe you’re not ready for exclusive dating yet. Exclusive dating (going out with the same person regularly) is a prelude to a more serious relationship and therefore calls for some dose of maturity and lots of good sense. Casual dating (group dates, harmless afternoon walk in the park types), on the other hand, may be enjoyed by youngsters provided the parents know the persons they are with and what time they are expected home.
This is what I believe now. When the time comes (i.e., when the future kids are in their teens), maybe the times have greatly changed so I may have a different opinion then.
