How Much Does It Cost To Create A Dating Website?
I am looking to create a dating website but I have no experience of web design or graphics. I would also like to know something about maintenance packages.
Any idea of cost? cheapest way? Reliable sources? Companies? Anything that can help!!!

im a freelance web programmer / designer. i’ve learnt mostly all the web programming language’s from the internet. im now moved on to programming in college.
you could easy get the site done for about £100 min, depending on who you hire. then you would have to cover the cost of maintaining the web server. which can cost you around £10+ a month with a good host. you could cover this cost easy thought investments of the site.
if your going to learn, its Pretty easy. start of with the languages HTML and CSS which is the basic and base language of web programming. then move on to stuff like PHP, JAVA and use data base’s such as MYSQL.
even if you learn the basics. there are already loads of full pre-programmed dataing / community “engines” out there.

If you do not have any experience in web design, don not attempt to do it yourself: you will be there forever and never achieve it.
It is a relatively complex application that requires several languages to code in, but not “that” complex: it is similar to an e-commerce joined to a bulletin-board (for msg between users).
I develop similar web2 applications, interactive, with CMS and payment gateway, for a basic fee of 4,500 Euros.
On the other hand, you could place your request to http://www.rentacoder.com (free), where you will get quotes from many coders. You need to be more precise in defining your project.
Beware: any offer less than 1500 would most likely be made by an amateur who will never deliver, and no “serious” programmer will take on a half finished site!

Years of experience not only do you have to maintain it but you have to fix bugs, watch security, etc. Hard work really its not something you can just do and when its created you have to decide whether it be a free site or pay site. Free sites tend not to be the greatest, less people use them because of the quality of people and then you got spamming. I don’t know who uses classified to post themselves its kinda strange to do.
If you know nothing you can learn however the demand for dating sites are there but extremely tough, but they have to have quality standards, have up to date technology, and be accurate ( a lot of people write false things on their profile which is the #1 concern) but can’t control that.
Depend on your requirements. I am sure that you will need a database to keep track of your new customers as well as payment etc..
The database part is expensive. For the design it is up to you but a technology like hrtml/javascript/php might be ok , mysql could be your database. The web hosting needs to be a good quality meaning you will need to get a decent one. If you go cheap on hosting your customers will have to wait. So get a good one.
Lots you have to have a plan and estimted income.
You need to design and create a website, which if you know what your doing is ok but to pay a designer costs quite a bit,
then you have to pay to have the website hosted, as well as a domain name…
so you reli need to know what your doing,
I’m not completely sure but some web design companies charge ridiculous amounts, and something like creating a dating website would involve a lot of coding and probably some complicated databases. Make sure you look around at a few different prices before settling with anything

Yes, there are schools that will teach you php programming and such.
