Uhm … My experience is that I got punched in the face by my boyfriend. And my nose was broken. He was a sweet guy, but things got the best of him all the time. He wasn’t on any medication though. And he was depressed too, along with a lot of other bad things. He just … hurt my feelings a lot when he didn’t mean to. He was NOT a bad person at all … I just want to stress that. Unfortunately, I had to let him go and he ended up committing suicide.
If youre posting this question, because you are dating someone who is bipolar or want to date someone who is bipolar, then don’t go off of bad responses. All people with bipolar disorder are different. I’m bipolar … and its not really bad, but I have my mood swings. But I would never hit anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings like he did to me. My cousin is bipolar and so is her boyfriend. Theyre doing pretty good. It’s all depending on the person. Being bipolar isn’t usually a big problem unless you have reaallly reaaaalllly bad anger issues. If they have bad anger issues, and are violent, then its a problem.
Best of luck to you [:

Don’t let these things bring you down though, everyone has difficulties in life and the worst part is – these people honestly would love to be in relationships and make them great, but life for some people makes it hard. Focus more on the persons positive qualities during these times, because thats what will help get you through it.

I don’t know if this qualifies me, but I was married to one for 7 years.
Things can go south fast. Be aware, that if your find a similar logic pattern that you are attracted to, and these issues keep popping up in your life, you will find that it is standard to consider the partner of the person who has bipolar disorder, to also have similar propensity. Even if you are not, the mood swings that are generated, tend to affect the spouse due to the fact, unless they are incredibly stable, eventually you will physically experience the same mood swing.
Mental illness is a spectrum. Almost all mental illnesses are anxiety related. There is currently a model for mental health found under a disease called celiacs or gluten intolerance. This condition is now being recognized throughout Europe as the cause and dietary cure and more specifically can be addresses as another mysterious auto immune dysfunction similar to that of arthritis or hyperthyroid or kidney disease.
The name of the particular function with the most direct understandable affects is called mal absorption. This is an auto immune affect that happens in the small intestine. This is the organ responsible for feeding your body and mind. In every mammal on the planet, when the brain does not receive enough nutrient, the release of the hormones known as adrenylin and more specifically the stress hormone known as cortisol are meant to heighten the senses and increase focus to aid in preditory or foraging responses.
The problem starts to happen when there is an imbablance of the super soldier hormone. If the body cannot be fed proper nutrient, this can spiral out of control.
Now here is an animal with no way to feed itself, due to the fact the small intestine is now under fire from an auto immune antibody from eating too much of a toxin or allergen and having the stress hormone flow into your system like a cascade.
What is known to happen is that from inside and outside of the small intestine responsable for feeding your brain, it is under auto immune attack.
So to continue my repititious story, while the small intestine can no longer function proper, it cannot absorb the natural remedy to the super soldier hormone, sarotonin.
Sarotonin is a happy drug. It allows your body to decontract. It allows muscles to relax. This includes the focus mechanism, your brain.
Now that you can see the cycle in physical terms, you might consider finding out what a gluten free diet is miraculously seeming to cure. The other thing is that most people who suffer mental health issues are usually highly intelligent. This high intelligence means the individual has a hyper active type brain that falls under the family of high functioning asperger autism.
Now with the diet rapidly being accepted in Europe as the best potential outcome that does not have the warning label of may cause psychotic behavior and/or suicidal tendancies, being a simple dietary change, it is hard to tell anyone who may or may not believe you that “the number one food source in the world is highly addictive to the carnivore and opens hyper active pathways in the brain that are permanent.”
The last statement is a quote from Dr. David Kessler, former commissioner of the FDA.
The good news is these pathways of hyper activity can be stabilized on this diet. The other good news is that this opens new hope in the eyes of how to treat our young. The good news is while not eating a known allergen to our species in mass quantity, allows your stomach to repair itself and frees up the immune system in order to more affectively deal with traumatic injury and infection. The good news is the national Grade point average of the people who are gluten free is 3.9 instead of 2.4. The good news is you have hyperactive access to a much less anxious and much more stable mind. The good news is any form of mental health can be treated with levels of success never seen by life long pharmaceutical intervention accompanied by life long monitoring.
Here is the best news yet. Pure medical science stands a chance at lowering the cost of our national health care system by destroying the “Practice” of medicine in the form of inexpensive genetic testing.
I am the idiot who holds the key to redefining mental health and the entire health care system. I have over $100,000 of pure misdiagnosis at the hands of the prehistoric ways of the Practice of medicine. For less than $200, genetic science gave me a 99.9% accurate way to save my life. With knowledge comes true power.
